img_5454May just began but it's been busy for me already. Easter came and went and so did my long awaited spring break, but I went to visit my best-est friend in a whole wide world. Her name is Sita and she now lives in Athens Greece. The trip was amazing, I stayed with her at her home while my parentals enjoyed their hotel. Amazingly my sugars were good despite the massive amounts of food I actually consumed. Mediterranean diet must agree with diabetics like me :) The only time my BG went up was during the flight to Athens, but with slightly higher basal rate, I managed to get it under control. Naturally I had to check the sugar form often than I would at home, even with my sensor inserted in my butt I needed to use the meter quite often. Wearing the sensor was the trade off, other wise my mom and dad wouldn't let me stay at Sita's.

img_5462Sita is german and speaks perfect Polish thanks to living in Warsaw for seven years before she moved to Greece where her mom got a new job post. During this short but eventful visit to Athens I managed to eat like a pig, go to the mall and even went site seeing and spent time with my parents too:).  I had a really great time, and I can't wait to go back there again this summer.

April 2011 PDF Print E-mail

img_5359April has been very busy for me and my family. I have had two major competitions this month, but thankfully both of them were close to home so we didn't have to travel too far away from Warsaw. I have had some issues with my sugars, don't know why? It's been very erratic for the first part of April,I woke up with highs and then would fall low at the stables, we didn't change anything neither in my diet nor my pump settings... weird. Anyway; my mom got it under control and now it's OK.

On the weekend of 4/3/2011 I got my new baby horse, she's so pretty and lovely. She's only five years old, really a baby, doesn't know how to jump yet, and she's been under a saddle for like 9 months out of which I've been teaching her the ropes for the last four. We went for the Mazovia Cup and  I ended up being fourth, bummer!!! I was leading too and then everything fell apart:( I was fighting for the third place and lost by like 002 of a second - FOURTH is the worst place for an athlete,  I actually cried during the decoration. By the way it was my fault I lost not Mansarda's , she really tried to win for me. Love that horse for her ability to know when to speed. Tha baby finished all her courses with some faults but we cleared one also :)

img_5382My dad left for US for 12 days after my competition and I didn't see him until I returned from the second competition in the middle of the month. He brought back my supplies - I was running low in infusion sets.

Acontendra and I won for the first time - she competed second time in her life - I am so proud of my baby:) Mansarda did great in her first N class (obstacles 120 cm), we had two obstacles down and one of them was totally my fault, again she did great.

School is so boring already, can't wait for the spring break which will happen end of April for Easter Holiday.

March 2011 PDF Print E-mail
img_4819March went by without major issues with my sugars. We had an awareness campaign going at the end of the month for my mom's foundation. I had a great time during this event as it took place during World Cup finals here in Warsaw in both horse jumping and dressage.  For all of you who do not know me, I ride horses every day after school and compete like every month or even more often during the season.I am enrolled in the USEF's High School Athlete program and got my minimum of 100 hrs riding done by december:)

OMG almost forgot to tell you that I might get a new horse :):) I am so exited... Her name is ARCONTENDRA and I've been riding her since last Christmas. Anyways I will be competing on her in April so I hope she will be really & truly mine.
